About Me

Castlepollard & Oldcastle Union
The three churches in the union are in three different counties Westmeath, Meath and Cavan. The area covered is over 200 square miles, but there are no large towns, so the parish is very rural. The country is very scenic, and includes many lakes, much rolling pasture, some bog, and the country's largest beech wood. There are many sites of great historic interest such as Fore Abbey, Tullynally Castle and the Loughcrew cairns. Most parishioners are engaged in farming or related occupations
